Canterbury Park Hosts Junk Bonanza

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Interested in buying a rickshaw, or perhaps a gypsy wagon?

Well, then head to Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn.

Caterbury Park is hosting Junk Bonanza, and Saturday, Sept. 27 is the final day.

About 12,000 people are expected to attend, and there will be 160 vendors selling antiques that must be at least 40 years old.

And if you're thinking of junk as garbage, think again.

"Years ago, junk was a negative term. But we've changed all that. Junk Bonanza means great things. It means anything old could be re-purposed. It's fabulous junk. We see folks coming in that are in their early 20s getting their first apartment, all the way up to 80-year-olds that say, 'I remember when we had that,'" Ki Nassauer, founder of Junk Bonanaza, said.

Saturday is the last day of the Junk Bonanza.

They are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Canterbury Park.

Admission is $9
