Authorities: St. Thomas Student Groped In Downtown Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of St. Thomas says one of their students was briefly assaulted outside of Minneapolis Opus Hall Monday morning.

According to St. Thomas Public Safety, at 8:26 a.m., the student yelled for help from the public safety officer seated at a desk near the lobby area outside of Opus Hall. She said an unidentified male suspect grabbed her from behind on the escalator and then fled from the building.

The officer pursued the suspect out of the building, but could not locate him.

Two witnesses reported that the man fled the across the street through the parking lot located behind the First Baptist Church.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black male with light complexion, medium height, thin build, dark brown buzz cut hair, wearing dark pants and an orange long sleeved shirt or sweatshirt.
