St. Paul Bustling As Twin Cities Marathon Nears

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – It's a little wet and a little chilly, but that's not stopping die hard runners!

Runners from around the country, and right here at home, are in town for the Twin Cities Marathon that takes place Sunday.

And Saturday, these runners are getting out and enjoying the festivities around the Capitol on Marathon Eve.

The morning featured the Twin Cities 10-K run at the State Capitol Grounds.

There was also a 5-K run and walk.

More than 8,000 people attended the event.

Family events like a mascot run, diaper dash and toddler trot all rounded out the morning.

You could even find kids playing tennis and getting their face painted.

The fields are full for Sunday's races, but organizers say there's plenty of room for spectators.
