Moorhead Man Accused Of Unlicensed Tattooing

MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) — A Moorhead man is accused of running an unlicensed tattoo shop inside his apartment.

Prosecutors say 35-year-old Ralph Curiel used a tattooing gun and needles to apply the tattoos.

Clay County Attorney Brian Melton tells KFGO-AM that most of Curiel's customers were teenage girls from the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Melton says word about the tattoo business spread on social media. Court documents say Curiel applied the tattoos on the teens' wrists, ankles and abdomens.

Curiel faces gross misdemeanor charges of failing to obtain technician licenses for tattooing and body piercing. He remained in jail Friday and is due back in court Oct. 24. His public defender did not immediately return a phone message Friday.
