Gustavus Unbeaten For First Time In 27 Years

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It is a picturesque day on the Gustavus Adolphus campus. The leaves are turning, telling the story of fall. That, by itself, makes if feel collegiate.

So too does the Gusty Football team, unbeaten at 6-and-0.

It's been a momentum that has created a buzz, the kind that comes when a football team plays at a high level.

The kind that comes when you turn a program.

"It's been awesome, I don't know the last time I ever started 6-0 at anything," one player said.

The kind that comes when a team feels it's united.

"I like to think it's one big family," another player said, "120 brothers working every day, competing, playing against each other."

Don't look now, but here comes the Big Red Machine from Collegeville--St John's, at home, with conference implications.

But for these players and this community, it's just nice to have a game day coming up.
