Everson Griffen Named NFC Defensive Player Of The Month
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Vikings announced Thursday that defensive end Everson Griffen has been named the NFC's Defensive Player of the Month for October.
Griffen led the NFC with six sacks over four games in October and was the only player in the NFC to record at last one sack in a four-game span during the month. He also led NFC defensive linemen with 20 tackles in the month of October, including 16 solo tackles.
Griffen had a career-best three sacks in the Vikings loss at Buffalo. He also forced a fumble and had a season-high eight tackles. He leads the NFC with eight sacks, a number that also leads the NFL among defensive linemen.
