Man Brings Gun To Gov. Walker Rally, Didn't See Sign

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (AP) -- A Wisconsin man isn't happy about being forced to leave his gun outside during a rally for Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

Forty-six-year-old Jay Brendemuehl of Pardeeville showed up at the rally at a Sun Prairie equipment business on Monday with a pistol plainly strapped to his side. He was waiting for Walker to show up when police escorted him out. He returned minutes later without the gun and watched the rally.

Brendemuehl said police told him the business prohibited firearms. He said he didn't see a sign on the door prohibiting weapons because someone was standing in front of it.

He says he put the gun back in his car but he wasn't happy about it because he believes his right to self-defense should be, as he put it, continuous.
