Wild's Coyle Reflects On His Time As A High School Athlete

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Charlie Coyle just signed a three-year, $15-million contract with the Minnesota Wild.

How did he get there? He grew up in the Boston area and paid the price every day. There were no short cuts.

"I just always tried to do little things on and off the ice. I played prep school, public high school, juniors in high school," Coyle said. "I kind of did it all, and each league kind of got me prepared for, you know, what I'm experiencing now."

He says having a strong work ethic is essential.

The Wild face the Canadiens Saturday night at Montreal's Bell Centre. The puck drops at 6 p.m.
