Man, 18, Allegedly Shoots Sister For Being Mean To Their Dad
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A St. Cloud man has been charged with second degree murder after allegedly shooting his sister during an argument in their motor home.
Luis Nahuel Rosa, 18, faces one count of second degree murder with intent but not premeditated and one count of second degree murder without intent.
According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 7 Mille Lacs County Deputy Bret Erickson responded to a report of a shooting in the Rum River Forest.
Officials were told a victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and the shooting was intentional.
Upon arrival, Erickson was directed to a motor home a few miles from 280th Street.
Erickson was approached by Luis' father Fernando Luis Rosa, 47, who told him that his daughter had gone crazy.
According to the criminal complaint, Fernando told Erickson that his 16-year-old daughter had "gone crazy," retrieved a knife and went after Luis.
Erickson entered the motor home where he found the female lying face down with a knife in her hand.
Erickson inquired who shot the female and Fernando pointed toward Luis and also showed Erickson the pistol that Luis used.
Fernando once again told Erickson that the victim had come at Luis with a knife, and he asked Erickson to check his son's stomach where the victim had allegedly stuck him.
Officials said Erickson noted a scratch but later determined it was not from the knife.
Investigators then spoke with Luis' 13-year-old sister who told them the victim and Frenando had gotten into an argument over the camper heater.
She said the argument woke Luis, who told the victim to stop it. The victim in turn told him to stay out of it.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl said Luis then got "really mad" and began chocking the victim.
She said he said "I'm done, I'm done," retrieved a gun and then said "I'm gonna kill you, I'm done."
The girl Luis then began shooting. She said the victim was turned away from Luis when he shot her from behind. She said she didn't see anything in the victim's hand.
An autopsy showed that there were two entry wounds, both from the back. Both shots appeared to be from very close range.
Officers spoke with Luis, who admitted to loading the gun and firing it.
He told officers that he shot the victim because he was tired of her being mean to their dad.
Upon further investigation, officers learned that Luis had behavioral issues and had been diagnosed with Pervasive Development Disorder, which has similarities to autism.
The incident is currently under investigation.
