Timberwolves' Martin Has Wrist Surgery, Out 6-8 Weeks

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday that guard Kevin Martin underwent successful right wrist surgery and will be sidelined about six to eight weeks.

Martin suffered the injury during the first quarter of the Timberwolves' 115-99 win over the New York Knicks last Wednesday. He led the Timberwolves in the game with 37 points. An MRI taken after the game revealed he had a fracture in his right wrist, his shooting hand.

In nine games this season, Martin was averaging 20.4 points and shooting better than 48 percent from three-point range.
