MILWAUKEE (AP) — Steve McWhorter scored 17 points and Milwaukee hit 26 of 31 free throws, including 5 of 6 in the final minute, to hold on to defeat Concordia (Minn.) 64-59 on Saturday.

Cody Wichmann added 13 points and 11 rebounds and Trinson White had 12 points for the Panthers (3-4), who trailed the Division II Golden Bears (3-2) 26-24 at the half.

Cole Olstad led Concordia with 19 points but the Golden Bears were just 7 of 17 from the foul line.

Milwaukee struggled from the field, making just 31.3 percent (15 of 48), and fell behind by 11 early in the game.

McWhorter's layup early in the second half put Milwaukee ahead for good but Concordia hung tough, tying the game at 44. Then McWhorter scored six of the next eight points and the Panthers held on.
