Twins Bring Back Torii Hunter On 1-Year Deal

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Twins made it official on Wednesday, announcing they've signed free agent outfielder Torii Hunter to a one-year contract worth $10.5 million.

Hunter returns to the place where his major league baseball career started. He spent his first 11 seasons with the Twins, is a five-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove winner.

Hunter, 39, hit .286 last year with 33 doubles, two triples, 17 home runs and 83 RBI in 142 games with the Detroit Tigers. For his career, Hunter is hitting .279 with 331 home runs.

He'll be entering his 19th major league season. Hunter will be introduced at a news conference at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Target Field along with manager Paul Molitor and General Manager Terry Ryan.
