MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Shots fired at a motel in Stearns County left one man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds on Friday.

Police responded to the Waite Park Motel 6 around 6 p.m. and found multiple shell casings on the sidewalk.

Two St. Cloud residents, Jonathan Hanson, 18, and Deandre Jones, 20, were arrested on first-degree assault charges, Waite Park Police Chief Dave Bentrud said.

The victim was taken to the emergency room at St. Cloud Hospital for injuries to his lower torso. He's expected to recover.

A handgun was recovered at the scene.

Hanson and Jones are being held in Stearns County Jail and are expected to appear in court on Monday.

Police said prostitution charges are likely to be charged against other suspects present at the scene.
