Federal Judge Allows Lawsuits Over Target Data Breach

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A federal judge has ruled that customers suing Target for last year's data breach will be able to move forward with their claims.

Target also reportedly faces lawsuits from banks hit by the data breach.

Trials in these customer and bank cases are not expected to start until at least 2016.

Hackers stole the personal data of 70 million customers, along with the credit and debit card numbers of 40 million shoppers last year.

There have been no arrests in the case.
