Bridgewater Selected To PFWA's All-Rookie Team
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday that quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been selected to the All-Rookie Team by the Pro Football Writer's Association.
The PFWA is made up of writers who cover the 32 teams in the NFL. Bridgewater went 6-6 as a rookie starter in 2014 and was the last selection of the first round in the NFL Draft. The Vikings traded back into the first round to get that selection.
He completed 64.4 percent of his passes in his rookie season, which ranks third-highest in NFL history for rookie quarterbacks. Bridgewater threw for more than 2,900 yards with 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He had 85.2 passer rating and led all rookie quarterbacks, averaging 224.5 yards passing per game.
The most recent players before Bridgewater to make the All-Rookie Team include Cordarrelle Patterson last year, Blair Walsh, Harrison Smith and Matt Kalil in 2012 and Kyle Rudolph in 2011.
