Company President Charged In Murder-For-Hire Plot Involving Employees

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The president of a Rockville, Minnesota, business is accused of trying to hire one of his employees in a plot to kill the boyfriend of another employee, a former lover.

Robert James Schueller, 29, has been charged in federal court with one count of commissioning murder-for-hire.

In 2013, from May to August, Schueller cheated on his wife with an employee of his at Nomad Pipeline Service, according to the criminal complaint.

Three months after the woman broke off the affair with Schueller, he found out she was dating a new man.

Schueller approached an employee with several felony convictions and asked if he knew anyone from prison who could kill his ex-flame's new boyfriend, the complaint says.

Schueller then sent his felon friend--who shared the plot with police--$10,000 cash and two business cards with the boyfriend's name and information on how to find him.

When the felon told Schueller he couldn't find an assassin, Schueller texted him to "burn those business cards."

Schueller appeared in St. Paul U.S. District Court Friday afternoon.
