Hornets' Walker To Sit Out Again Against Timberwolves

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Hornets point guard Kemba Walker will miss his second straight game because of a cyst on his left knee.

Brian Roberts will start in his place Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves in a rare weekday afternoon game Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Walker had been averaging 29.8 points in the six games before missing Saturday night's game against Indiana. Still, the Hornets beat the Pacers 80-71 in overtime for their sixth win in seven games to improve to 16-25.

The Hornets look to build on that momentum against Minnesota, which has the worst record in the Western Conference.

Center Al Jefferson is still recovering from a groin injury, meaning Charlotte's top two scorers are sidelined. Third-string point Jannero Pargo is also out with a back injury.
