Congress Extends Funding For Homeland Security

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - With two hours to spare, Congress passed a bill to extend funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

The department would have run out of money at 11 p.m. Friday.

The House overwhelmingly passed a Senate measure that extends funding for another week.

It now heads to President Obama.
