Twin Cities Takes Advantage Of #Top10WxDay

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's been 134 days since we have had 60-degree weather.

"This is amazing," Samantha Isler of Minneapolis said. "It's really beautiful."

Beautiful and unique: We were nearly 30 degrees above average for March 10.

At Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis those conditions created a mix of people jogging in shorts and people ice fishing just a couple hundred yards away.

"It's warm as heck outside," Anthony Bonsante of Minneapolis said. "We came out to look at the frozen lake while wearing shorts and do some drawing and enjoy the sunshine."

The sunshine and the golf.

Oak Marsh Golf Course in Oakdale had its earliest opening ever, though carts still had to navigate through the snow at times.

And from golf to baseball, the turf blankets were removed at Target Field, freeing the grass from a long winter.

"We built up karma for decades, so we definitely deserve it," Andre Martin of St. Paul said.

It sure feels that way, but remember that just three years ago, in 2012, we set a bunch of warm-weather records. That year it was 80 degrees on St. Patrick's Day.

"Spring break is coming up, and I just want to stay in Minneapolis now because it's so beautiful here," Erica Vandenbush of Minneapolis said.

At Brit's Pub the patio and the rooftop opened weeks earlier than expected. There's no lawn bowling yet, but business is definitely heating up.

"I guess the last time we had 60 degrees was October, and I did the math -- that was five months ago," Steve Christian of Minneapolis said. "My God, that's half a year."

All over the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota, people were tweeting and sharing their satisfaction with these unseasonably warm temperatures.

And Roger Sulicki shared this photo of the last snowman at Carver Lake while out taking his dog for a walk:
