Police: Toddler Found Walking In Eagan Neighborhood

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police in Eagan are investigating after a small child somehow got out of her Eagan home while her father was inside sleeping.

According to a police report, the incident happened just before  3 p.m. Saturday on the 1600 block of Deerwood Drive in Eagan, which is very close to I-35E. The report says a girl, 1 or 2 years old, got out of the house through the screen of a back door in the home that was separated from the door enough for the child to get out.

The child's father was asleep in a chair inside the home. The little girl was seen by two passers-by as she almost walked into the street near the area of Blackhawk and Raptor Roads.

A child protection agency was notified after the incident.
