WCCO This Morning Takes On Caribou's Coffee Madness Challenge

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Sweet 16 tips off Thursday night on WCCO and our WCCO This Morning team tried their own March Madness competition with a twist.

No need for a good shooting percentage for this game - all you need is coffee!

Lucia was live at Caribou headquarters in Brooklyn Center for the company's "Coffee Madness" competition.

Lucia was challenged by Coffee Madness champion, Carlos Gee; he even showed his Coffee Madness Champion jacket.  Did you know that Caribou roasts 35,000 pound of coffee a day at their headquarters? Talk about a jolt!

There are 64 participants and here's how it works:

Bracket Style: The blind coffee-tasting tournament is a bracket style competition that tipped off on the same day as March Madness.

Final Round: The championship is Friday, March 27.

You Guess It:  There are plenty of brews to try. Each contestant tastes the same blend of coffee and the first one to guess the correct blend (Obsidian, Daybreak, etc) is declared the winner.

Let's see how Jason DeRusha, Jamie Yuccas Matt Brickman and Kim Johnson faired in the Light vs. Dark Roast competition.
