Timberwolves Sign F Arinze Onuaku

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday they've signed forward Arinze Onuaku for the rest of the regular season.

The Timberwolves were granted a hardship exception by the NBA to fill a 16th roster spot due to having at least four players out with injuries. Onuaku, 27, averaged 17.5 points and 12.2 rebounds while shooting better than 62 percent from the field in 41 games for the Canton Charge in the NBA Developmental League.

He was originally signed by the Indiana Pacers last September after playing for their Summer League team. He was waived on Oct. 25, 2014.

Onuaku, a 6 foot, 10 inch forward, played in three games for the New Orleans Pelicans and two games for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2013-14 season. He went undrafted in 2010 after playing four years at Syracuse.
