Teens & Technology: Study Finds 25 Percent Are Online 'Almost Constantly'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new study by the Pew Research Center shows just how much teens are using technology and social media.

Thanks to the convenience provided by mobile devices, just over 90 percent of teens, ages 13 to 17, said they go online daily. Nearly 25 percent said they go online almost constantly.

Only about 10 percent of the teens surveyed said they do not have a cell phone.

The study also found that Facebook is still the top social media site with about 70 percent of teens using it. Instagram came in second.

Another interesting part of the study shows that kids from higher income families use Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter more than kids from low-income families.
