Adrian Peterson Now Eligible For Reinstatement

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The ongoing drama between star Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and the NFL may be coming to an end. That's because Wednesday, April 15 is the first day Peterson becomes eligible for reinstatement.

The NFL had said they wouldn't consider reinstating the Vikings running back until now.

Peterson's been sidelined since last fall after pleading no contest to hitting his 4-year-old son with a switch and he's been on the NFL's Exempt List ever since.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will have the final say as to when Peterson can return.

However, even if Peterson is reinstated Wednesday, where he'll play is still up in the air.

The Vikings have stated publicly numerous times that they want him to return. But Peterson and his agent have been reported saying he may be better off playing elsewhere.

Peterson's first mandatory appearance would be at the Vikings minicamp at Winter Park in June.
