Analysis: Minn. Teams Are The Biggest Losers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesota sports have been in a bad state, and a new analysis pours salt on the wound.

The Washington Post released an infographic Tuesday showing that among the 12 media markets with four major sports teams, Minneapolis ranked dead last in win percentage over the past decade.

The Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves and the Wild could only muster an overall win percentage of .462. Boston teams, on the other hand, were at the top of the pack, with a win percentage of .611.

The Minneapolis market's worst sport was baseball, where the win percentage languished at .319. The market's most winningest sport was hockey, where the percentage was actually positive (.560).

The analysis also points out that Minnesota has only made 11 playoff appearances in the last 10 years. Of course, no Minnesota team has brought home a championship trophy.

Too bad the analysis didn't include the Lynx.
