Minn. Pickle Maker To Cut Large Percentage Of Workforce

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota pickle maker Gedney Foods is set to slash more than half of its workforce.

The Chaska-based company said it's been forced to make the cuts after losing a major contract, according to the Business Journal.

The 145-year-old company will reduce the number of employees from 175 to 75 next month.

Gedney produces private-label pickles for Del Monte, Cains and Target's Archer Farms brand.
