4 Things To Know: Possible Church Attacks In Paris, Earth Day & More

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Here is a look at the four stories you need to know for Wednesday, April 22.

Attempted Terrorist Attack In Paris

Police in France prevented the possibility of attack when they arrested a suspected Islamic extremist Sunday morning.

French officials said a 24-year-old IT student was arrested in possession of a significant arsenal of weapons.

They believe he is an Islamic radical who planned attacks on one or two churches.

He is also a suspect in a murder.

France has been on high alert since the Paris terror attacks of early January that left 17 people dead.

Trek Bicycle Corporation Issues Recall

The federal government is recalling nearly a million bikes after a rider was paralyzed.

Trek is recalling the bikes built between 2000 and 2015 because a quick-release lever on the front-wheel hub can come into contact with the brake. The wheel then separates or comes off.

Three accidents have been reported and injuries were severe. In one case a rider was paralyzed.

April 22 Is Earth Day

Happy Earth Day to the best planet in the solar system!

It's the 45th year to celebrate the environment. A billion people are expected to participate in Earth Day events.

Also, in honor of the day, new restaurant rules go into effect in Minneapolis. One includes the ban on Styrofoam. Take-out in Minneapolis will need to be in other carriers.

Because It's The Cup

Get ready to get Wild!

The Minnesota Wild and St. Louis play in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup playoffs Wednesday evening at the Xcel Energy Center.

If the Wild win they'll head back to St. Louis on Friday, needing only one more win to advance in the playoffs.

There will be another pre-game party in St. Paul from 6 to 8 p.m. before the game.

The puck drops at 8:30 p.m.
