Woman, 22, Arrested After Fatal Crash In St. Croix Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Hammond, Wis. woman was arrested after fatally striking a pedestrian early Thursday morning.

Alyssa Kochsiek, 22, was arrested for homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office, at 2:32 a.m. deputies responded to a call of a crash involving a pedestrian on County Road C, just three-fourths of a mile west of Wall Street in Star Prairie, Wis.

Upon investigation, police learned Kochsiek had been driving eastbound on County Road C when she struck 28-year-old Jeffrey S. Boardman Jr., of New Richmond, who had been walking eastbound along County Road C.

Kochsiek hit Boardman, sending him into a ditch. He was pronounced dead on the scene by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner.

Boardman had been walking with 26-year-old Matthew L. Myer, of New Richmond. Both were wearing dark clothing with no reflective markings. No information has been released on Myer.

Kochsiek and her two passengers, 32-year-old Scott T. Matti of Somerset and 18-year-old Jordan M. Tulgren of New Richmond, were uninjured.

Kochsiek is currently being held in the St. Croix County Jail awaiting formal charges. The incident is currently under investigation.
