Animal Humane Society Reaches $1 Million Goal
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Last weekend's Walk for Animals event was a huge success.
The Animal Humane Society says it has exceeded its goal of $1 million, with the help of thousands of donors and a WCCO-TV phone bank.
Exact figures are still not known, because some donations are still being dropped off.
More than 9,000 people attended the 41st annual Walk for Animals on Saturday.
The society's biggest fundraiser helps pay for medical treatment and care for more than 24,000 animals.
