Wild Must Regroup (Again) To Avoid Game 4 Elimination

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Where do you go from here? The Wild understand Tuesday night's game was pivotal. It was everything but a knockout punch delivered by Chicago, but it's not over.

WCCO's Mike Max paid a visit to the team Wednesday morning and found out Wild fans might as well believe.

One of the great things about athletes and coaches is as bad is it looks, as dire the circumstances, the Minnesota Wild got here, to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, because they have carried a sense of optimism.

"The first couple series that we had against them it was sort of new to us but this year we have a different confidence and I think as a group we're looking forward to the task at hand like we were in January as we were trying to prove people wrong," Jared Spurgeon said.

What needs to change to change the series? Well nothing, but something.

"I don't think anything. We've got to sit here and change anything, change our systems, change things. I don't think that's the solution. We've got to be better," Zach Parise said.

What it really looks like and what scares the Minnesota Wild is this: Chicago looks like it has gotten very serious about wanting to win a Stanley Cup. With the talent they have, the Wild might not have enough to counter it.

The Blackhawks look like they paced themselves during the regular season, then decided it was go time.

"When a team is playing like that, there's no easy way to go and score a goal," coach Mike Yeo said. "That harder your try, quite often, the more frustrating it is and the less opportunity you have."

So at least one more time, the Wild will regroup and try to convince themselves they are good enough to win. Why not? There is no other good alternative.

"Try to avoid looking at it as we're down 3-0 and just try to worry about one thing and that's tomorrow's game," Kyle Brodziak said.

The most recent silver lining is the L.A. Kings, who came back from a 3-0 deficit last year to beat the San Jose Sharks. The Kings went onto win the Stanley Cup.
