State Patrol: 2 Hurt After Motorcycle Hits Deer In Western Wis.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people were hurt Sunday night after a motorcycle collided with a deer in western Wisconsin, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Authorities received a report of crash between a motorcycle and a deer at about 6:21 p.m. on Highway 48 just west of 24th Ave. in Crystal Lake Township, which is near Cumberland in Barron County. When officers arrived, a 44-year-old man from Menomonie, Wis., was heading eastbound on Highway 48 when he struck a deer.

The driver then lost control of the motorcycle and he was ejected along with a 43-year-old female passenger. Authorities said the driver was not wearing a helmet and received non-life threatening injuries, including a head injury. The female passenger was wearing a helmet and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The Wisconsin State Patrol said the crash is still under investigation.
