Woman Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities have identified the woman who was killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Winona last week.

Police responded to a home on the 1500 block of West King Street on Friday afternoon. There they found a woman dead of a gunshot wound to the head.

They also found an 84-year-old man who had also suffered a severe head injury. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but died of his injuries the next day.

The Winona Police Department reported his injuries appeared self-inflicted.

On Monday, police identified the female victim as 75-year-old Carol Lee Alexander-Pickart. The man was identified as Jerome Ralph Pickart.

The investigation remains open, and full autopsy results are still forthcoming.
