Woman Sentenced In Meth-Fueled Crash That Killed Cambridge Man

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 43-year-old Princeton woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for causing a crash that killed a 62-year-old Cambridge man, according to the Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo.

Christina Marie Rockstroh was sentenced Tuesday by Anoka County District Court Judge Tammi Fredrickson. She had previously pled guilty to criminal vehicular homicide on March 18, 2015.

On Aug. 26, 2013, Rockstroh was driving her SUV northbound on Round Lake Boulevard in Andover when she swerved into oncoming traffic several times. She then crossed the center line and crashed head-on with the victim, who was driving southbound. The victim, Gary Christofferson, died at the scene.

Rockstroh, who suffered non-life threatening injuries, was found to have methamphetamine in her system at the time of the crash.

"Unfortunately, the victim lost his life because of the tragic choices by the defendant," Palumbo said. "Drug use was certainly not a victimless crime in this case."
