WR Mike Wallace Settling Into New Home With Vikings

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Training camp may still be a month and a half away, but the new addition to the Vikings offense, Mike Wallace, is working on fitting in here during OTAs. Wallace says he's excited about his new team, and about his new quarterback.

Wallace was the biggest signing of the off season. Coming from Miami, he's been impressive so far. But he says getting to know the people around him has been priority number one.

"Just getting adjusted to my teammates is the biggest thing," Wallace said. "The offense is pretty simple."

What Wallace can do in the Vikings' offense is all vertical -- that's one reason he decided to come to Minnesota. The other was an exciting new quarterback that he thought had a lot of promise -- Teddy Bridgewater.

"The quarterback was continually getting better at the end of last year," Wallace said. "They gave us a tough game at the end of last year in Miami."

Wallace is trying to prove that he's a playmaker, in an offense that already has some star power.

"He works very, very hard. He's been catching the ball well," head coach Mike Zimmer said of Wallace. "He's been learning the playbook. All these things are all different for him, but he's looked good."

Another factor that has Wallace excited is being able to work under Norv Turner's offense.

"Coach Turner's on us a lot. You know, he's a different person when he gets in the building and once he gets on the field," Wallace said. "It's like a light switch. It's crazy how fast he can switch on you, but it's passion."

The Vikings start their training camp next month.
