Man Found Dead On North Side Street Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials have identified the man whose body was found last week near a Minneapolis high school.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office said 19-year-old Tyrone Eric Lyles, of Richfield, died from the gunshot wound to the chest.

His death was ruled a homicide.

Lyles suffered the fatal wound last Wednesday. Minneapolis police said they found his body in the street near the intersection of 15th and Irving avenues on the city's north side.

While the shooting happened near North High School, police said it didn't appear the shooting had anything to do with the school.

Officials say the shooting does not appear to be random.

No arrests have been made in connection to Lyles' death.
