PGA Announces Ticket Process For Ryder Cup At Hazeltine
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The PGA of America announced Monday its ticketing process for the 2016 Ryder Cup, which will be held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska.
The Ryder Cup, which puts the best PGA Tour professional players from the USA against the best professional players from Europe in a match-play format, will be held Sept. 27-Oct. 2, 2016. For those wanting to get tickets, registration started Monday and golf fans can do so by going to the Ryder Cup website.
Registration will go until 11:59 p.m. eastern time on Sept. 30. That gives fans a chance to get tickets through the PGA's random selection process.
Due to the event's format and the high demand for tickets, a limited number of tickets will be available through the random selection process. Event officials said galleries will be limited to about 40,000 per day. Event officials said 130,000 people had already gone to the Ryder Cup website to be notified when registration starts for the random selection process.
Results from the random drawing process will be announced by the middle of October. If you're selected to purchase tickets, daily grounds tickets are $35 for Tuesday and Wednesday practice rounds, then increase to $100 for Thursday's first-round matches and go up to $130 for Friday-Sunday action.
There is also the option of a grounds ticket for the week, which is six individual tickets for $560.
Event officials said a maximum of two weekly tickets or four daily tickets per person can be purchased. A maximum of four practice round tickets per person can also be purchased.
