MNsure CEO: Supreme Court Ruling Won't Affect Subsidies Here

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The head of Minnesota's state-run health insurance exchange says an eagerly awaited Supreme Court ruling on subsidies will have no impact in the state.

The high court is expected to rule any day on the legality of insurance subsidies when they are handed out for policies obtained through the federal-run exchange. A lawsuit claims that those subsidies are only supposed to be available through state-run exchanges.

Minnesota is among the handful of states that opted to run its own exchange, known as MNsure.

MNsure interim chief executive Allison O'Toole says Minnesotans got nearly $31 million in tax credits last year. She says credits will continue regardless of what the high court does.
