Teddy Bridgewater Talks Vikings, Kentucky Derby, High School Prom

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Teddy Bridgewater is entering his second NFL season as the potential new face of the Minnesota Vikings. But it's just as important to him to be an approachable, down to earth guy.

That was never more evident than when he took one of his biggest fans back in Louisville to her high school prom. He also spent part of his offseason at one of the biggest events in sports, the Kentucky Derby.

Bridgewater was thrown into the fire with the Vikings last season after Matt Cassel broke his foot in a loss to the New Orleans Saints. Bridgewater ended up starting 12 games in his rookie year and went 6-6.

He finished the year with more than 2,900 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had 12 interceptions and ran for one score. And he compiled the numbers without one of the best running backs in the NFL, Adrian Peterson.

Bridgewater recently sat down with WCCO's Mike Max to talk Vikings, family and the Kentucky Derby.
