Heavy Rains, Storms To Sweep Across Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Storms will sweep across Minnesota Sunday as the holiday weekend comes to a close.

Meteorologist Lauren Casey says much of Sunday night and Monday's activity will be in the central and southeastern parts of the state, where a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 2 a.m. A flash flood watch is also in effect for several counties until 2 p.m. Monday.

Some areas of the state could see between two and seven inches of rain depending on where the hardest rain falls. We should also expect to have heavy winds and hail.

Monday morning looks to bring widespread rains, but the clouds will clear out by the afternoon.

Then say goodbye to the humidity.

Dew points will plummet overnight Monday, setting the stage for a comfortable Tuesday.
