Roseville Police Looking For Bank Robbery Suspect
ROSEVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Roseville Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a suspect in a bank robbery Saturday morning.
Officers responded at about 9:40 a.m. to a hold-up alarm at the Bremer Bank located at 1715 West County Road B2. When they arrived, they learned a lone suspect had entered the bank, approached a teller and gave the employee a handwritten note demanding money and implying that he had a gun.
Police said the teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, and the suspect fled the area in a 2000 silver Pontiac Grand Am. That car was located a few minutes later abandoned at the Rosedale Commons parking lot, just west of where the bank robbery occurred.
An investigation showed the car had been stolen from a Pizza Hut in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the night before. The car's owner said he went into the store to get another delivery order with his car still running and when he came back out, the car had been stolen.
The suspect who stole the vehicle also stole license plates from a vehicle on display at Furlong Motors in Faribault, police said. The suspect is also believed to have stolen fuel at a Lakeville gas station at about 3 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the bank robbery suspect is described as a Caucasian male about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a thin build, short brown hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap with white stitching and a possible "Pizza Hut" logo above the hat's bill. He was also wearing a black long sleeve T-shirt with a logo above the left breast and a large flattened diamond logo on the back, cargo shorts, white socks and white tennis shoes.
Authorities say video surveillance shows that the gas drive-off suspect and the bank robbery suspect are believed to be the same person.
Anyone with information about the bank robbery or who sees the suspect should call 911 immediately or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. The suspect should not be approached. Authorities will provide a reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
