Level III Sex Offender Arrested In Big Lake
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a recently released sex offender who had been in violation of the terms of his release was arrested Monday.
Police were looking for 49-year-old Darren Steven Marks, who was released from prison on July 8, 2013, on conditions that he check in with his agent at least twice per month. He hadn't been in compliance with those obligations and as last seen July 3.
Authorities said Marks was arrested Monday afternoon in the Big Lake area of Sherburne County after a concerned citizen called 911. He is currently booked in the Sherburne County Jail.
Marks was first imprisoned in 1993 for criminal sexual conduct with a woman. He was also found guilty of controlled substance possession and failure to register as a predatory sex offender in later years.
