Sheriff: Teen Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Boat
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 15-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in a boating accident Friday night.
The Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office says Marah Elizabeth Bengston was hit by a boat at about 6:30 p.m. on East Jefferson Lake in Cleveland Township.
Bengston was wake boarding and lost her balance while being pulled by a boat driven by her father. She fell into the water, and then was hit by another boat driven by 20-year-old Richard Jensen, of St. Peter.
She was taken by helicopter to Rochester's St. Mary's Hospital, where she is being treated for serious injuries to her arm and leg.
The sheriff's office is investigating.
