Minnesota Home Brewers Gather For Beer Event At Surly

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Fans of home-brewed beer from across the state met in Minneapolis on Sunday for beers and brewing advice.

The American Homebrewers Association hosts a series of these rallies nationwide. Sunday's event took place at Surly Brewing Company.

Homebrewers were able to connect with other home beer makers and trade brewing tips. They were given a tour of the brewery, samples and each person received five gallons of unfermented beer, which is used to make batches of beer at home.

"Take home a really special gift from the brewery and that's kind of just what these afternoons, these events area all about: Partnering the home brewing community and the craft beer community," Matt Bolling with the American Homebrewers Association said.

The American Homebrewers Association holds 40 of these rallies each year. If you're interested, there's another event next month in Duluth.
