2 Charged In Drive-By St. Paul Gang Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Police say a St. Paul gang was behind a Saturday evening drive-by shooting.

Two men, who police say are members of the eastside-based Ham Crazy gang, are charged with committing the shooting for the benefit of a gang.

Kacey Luke Feiner, 18, is accused of firing a 9mm Glock at a group of six to 10 men as they stood near the corner of Rice Street and University Avenue around 8 p.m. on Saturday. Police believe the targets of the shooting were members of the rival westside-based Hit Squad gang.

Isaac Maiden, 21, was driving the car, a silver Mercedes, according to the criminal complaint.

One of the shooting victims was hit in the left arm and "felt ringing in his hand," the complaint says. When he looked down and saw blood, he went to wash up in a McDonald's bathroom, but his friends persuaded him to go to the hospital. Police interviewed the man, believed to be a Hit Squad associate, at United Hospital.

A civilian who witnessed the shooting wrote down the Mercedes' license plate, and police pulled over the car soon after, as it was speeding south on Rice Street toward John Ireland Boulevard.

Maiden told police he was high on Xanax and must have blacked out.

The Glock was found hidden under the rear seat cushion of the Mercedes.
