Local Music Tap: 4 Shows To See This Week(end)

It's (still) summer in the Twin Cities. And that means this weekend will be chock-full of great shows for local music fans to experience. Here's just a small — but great — sample of what this weekend has to offer.

Friday: Kara Laudon w/ A Piano In Every Home @ Amsterdam, St. Paul

Still fresh off the release of her album "I Wasn't Made" in April, Minneapolis acoustic/pop songstress Kara Laudon will be hitting the stage again this weekend at St. Paul's Amsterdam Bar.

A Piano In Every Home will also join her on Friday's bill. Doors at 8 p.m. with tickets in the $7 - $10 range.

Friday: Lungs Album Release @ Triple Rock Social Club, Mpls.

Attention, metalheads: this one's for you! Minneapolis' Lungs – who are described as post-metal/sludge/doom (it's quite spot-on) – are releasing their new album, "As Dust Reaches The Earth," at the equally rowdy Triple Rock Social Club on Friday. The 18-plus show begins at 9 p.m. and tickets are $8.

Also on the bill: Zebulon Pike, The Funeral And The Twilight, and Let It Breathe.
