ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) — It definitely wasn’t your typical Sunday night in St. Paul. RiverCentre rolled out the red carpet, and some of the world’s biggest stars walked it.
Several celebrities were in town for the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s annual gala. Katy Perry accepted the invitation to sing at the event this year. Former President George. W. Bush also came, as well as Bill Clinton.
Bill and Tani Austin have been very successful in getting famous people on board with their mission of helping those in need of hearing aids, all over the world.
“We’re all privileged. It’s a beautiful sunny day, we are in air conditioning in St. Paul and Minneapolis and everybody is healthy and happy and well-fed. Not everybody in the world has that. The last we could do is to come out, support the Starkey Foundation, raise some money and especially help the children around the world,” KISS bassist Gene Simmons said.
The annual “So the World May Hear Gala” is held to thank the people and organizations who have worked with the foundation to help others.
