Marin Restaurant Takes Part In The Better Burger Project

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The James Beard Foundation and the Mushroom Council are hoping restaurants will show you a better burger.

To help push their efforts, they created the Better Burger Project.

Restaurants are encouraged to put their twist on the summer classic. Patrons are invited to take photos of themselves enjoying the "better burger" and upload them to social media accounts.

The restaurant with the most votes, in the forms of tags, wins national honors.

One restaurant taking part in the project is Marin Restaurant and Bar in Minneapolis.

Jay Pierce and Mike Rakun from the restaurant joined WCCO to show what they are cooking up.

The competition ends on Friday, July 31 so there's still time to head to Marin and try their "better burger!"

If you can't make it in Friday, the burger will stay on the menu throughout the summer.
