New Study Records Thoughts Of Long-Distance Runners

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – All kinds of thoughts can go through your head while you're out running.

Now, a first-of-its kind study shows what some of the most popular thoughts are.

British researchers asked amateur long-distance runners to record their thoughts.

According to the results, 32 percent spent their time thinking about the pain they were in. Forty percent were focused on pace and distance.

The study showed much of the runners time was spent thinking about their running environment; whether it was beautiful ocean or mountains they were running in, or the fear of running into a snake.
