Dump Truck Hits Overpass In Western Wis., No Injuries

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say nobody was hurt after a dump truck hit an overpass on Interstate 94 in western Wisconsin late Friday night.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was called at about 11:59 p.m. on a report of a dump truck that hit the Division St. overpass on westbound I-94 at mile marker 54. The Wisconsin State Patrol was assisted that the scene by the Dunn County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say a woman from Couderay, Wis., was operating the dump truck owned by Lac Court Oreillies Development Corporation and driving the truck in a construction zone when she forgot the truck box was lifted. It hit the overpass, causing significant damage.

The State Patrol says the dump truck box was completely torn from the truck, and debris from the bridge fell into the westbound lanes of I-94. The right lane of westbound I-94 at the overpass had to be closed so crews could clean up the damage and inspect the bridge.

The driver was taken to a local hospital and suffered no apparent injuries. The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash remains under investigation.
