North St. Paul Dedicates Park To Military Veterans

NORTH ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Veterans and their families joined volunteers in dedicating the North St. Paul Veterans Park Memorial on Saturday.

The ceremony started with a military flyover. A local veteran's nonprofit designed and built the park. They broke ground two years ago, but the planning began years before.

A big part of the memorial is the Remembrance Wall, which includes the names of local Veterans who were killed, Missing in Action or were Prisoners of War.

"I'm a Vietnam combat vet, you know I lost a lot of my brothers over there and some of the ones I went to high school with and grew up with," Mike LaBelle said. "And I'll do anything for their remembrance."

The park is across the street from North Saint Paul High School. It's free to visit.
